A Time for Everything

Ecclesiastes 3

I pray blessings on you as you read.

(v. 1-8) "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace."

My Thoughts

There really is a time for everything. When you were a kid, or maybe you are actually a kid now, have you ever wished that you were older so that you could certain things like drive or date or work or not have to go to school anymore? I did, and I'm pretty sure everyone does at some point. When we are young, we wish to be older and when we are old, we wish to be younger.

What we need to do instead is teach our children to enjoy their lives now and make the most of it while they are young so that when they get older, they don't have any regrets. We should make the most of our lives at the present time so that we don't wish to be young again because "I should've done this." or "I should've done that."

When you are young, there are things for you to do at that time, and you will eventually, inevitably, get older. You can wait until you get older to do grown-up things. Do kid things now. When you are old(er), there are things for you to do then too. There's no shame in having fun and being slightly childish sometimes or playing games. In fact, it's God to do so, good to do so and healthy to do so. If you stop having fun and you stop enjoying life, that is when you die. Not literally, obviously.

It is never too late to start doing something that you want to do. If there is something that you have wanted to do for a long time, start on it now, however old you are, because if you never do, you will eventually be unable to. Oh, and don't worry about the "I should've done this sooner. Maybe then..." stuff. Those thoughts may come, but don't entertain them because it will make you feel bad or depressed or something. Just focus on the now and enjoy every minute and every part of it.

Prayer Time

Now you talk to God about what you read, and you can even read this chapter of the Bible for yourself before you do.

Let me know your thoughts on this reading as well.
